I am so excited to be going back to Puerto Rico this summer with Athletes in Action! And this time as an intern with the project! I have even been learning some Espanol for this time around (I took 3 years of french in high school and middle school and did not know any Spanish last year)! Since returning from Puerto Rico in June, God has been pulling me closer to Him through the trials in my life especially in field hockey. He has shown me that I cannot do things on my own and that His love is the best love. A verse that really speaks to what God has been showing me this past fall is 1 Peter 1:7.
“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”
As I dive into the spring semester, I am excited to see what God has in store for me and for AIA at UMass. I have learned (the hard way) that I have to trust in Him and His plans and trust that He will provide; and that is my personal goal this semester- to trust that God will provide in all aspects of my life. School, field hockey (spring conditioning where we run. a lot.), financially, career path, the future, and with fundraising for this trip.
I’m pumped to start the fundraising process again because I have faith that God will work His magic and lead me to the right places. I will be sharing my experiences through my blog again so stay tuned!
Peace out!
Katie
